Accounts Payable Clerk

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the retail industry, located in Modesto, California. In this role, you will be a key player in handling and organizing financial operations, focusing primarily on the management of payable files, invoice processing, and vendor account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process invoices for weekly check runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage the verification and mailing process of checks, including expediting special handling.
• Accurately input invoices, checks, and other documents into the system.
• Handle daily customer deposits and weekly cash reconciliation, coupled with bank deposits.
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice expenses.
• Maintain company vehicle lists and registrations.
• Reconcile monthly vendor statements and shipping vendors/statements.
• Resolve purchase orders, contract invoices, or payment discrepancies and maintain documentation.
• Ensure daily processes and controls are executed accurately and in line with company policies and regulations.
• Provide support within the accounting team, as required. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with check runs
• Skilled in coding invoices
• Strong data entry skills
• Prior experience in invoice processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in reconciling vendor statements
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and regulatory standards
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
