What We Are Looking For: We are looking for a person who understands the value of public service and wants to help us meet the needs of our citizens and someone who embraces diversity. Above all, we are looking for someone that is passionate about IT application development.This person needs to be an excellent communicator, meaning you can effectively make oral and written reports, presentations and prepare clear and concise documentation. You need to have a team-oriented mindset and be capable of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and team members.
We need someone who can help resolve problems in a timely manner and seek effective solutions.
About The Position: This position will collect and analyze employment and wage data for establishments randomly selected for participation in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) survey. This includes running queries to verify accuracy of data and reviewing occupation and wage estimates for errors and quality.Responsible for collecting, reviewing and processing employment and wage data for large-size and multi-unit establishments according to prescribed procedures. Assign occupational codes to job information provided by employers based on the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system.
Review estimates created by the OES program for quality before annual release. Generate customized estimates in the Local Employment and Wage Information System (LEWIS) software. Write and publish occasional articles and analysis on labor market topics.
Perform related work as assigned.
Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Detroit, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
