This is a dynamic role and will leverage your strengths and interest areas. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Family Office Accountant based in San Francisco. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting financial reporting, treasury management, tax compliance and planning, and residential and commercial property management for the Principal, and in the slow periods of the year, you will support the finance team with some investment accounting and light financial analysis work.

As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing accounting tasks and financial reporting for a busy family.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various accounting related tasks and financial reporting tasks for the Family Office and Investment Funds
  • Maintain the general ledgers and accounting entries for the Family and their portfolio of residential and commercial property, and investments
  • Oversee the alternative investment portfolio, pay capital calls, and subscribe to new investments as identified by the family
  • Manage bill payments and monitor bank account balances
  • Track all government and compliance tax filings
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end tax workpapers and supporting schedules for the external tax team
  • Prepare quarterly personal financial statements and other ad hoc reports
  • Perform various special projects, ad-hoc and/or administrative functions as requested

  • Minimum 3+ years accounting/operations experience
  • Family Office or high net worth tax and accounting experience a plus, but not required
  • Experience in all aspects of accounts payable and general ledger accounting functions required
  • Tech-savvy: advanced knowledge of both Google and Apple products with demonstrable proficiency with Google Suite (calendar, drive, sheets); Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); Zoom and other online video communication software; PM/messaging tools; quick learner of new apps
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager and QuickBooks accounting software preferred
