Hours: FULLTIME 3rd Shift: 10PM - 6:30AM

(Sun-Thurs)

Wage: Starting at $20 per

hour (plus based on experience)

Job Description:

The
Certification Technician generates well written and thorough certificates of heat
treating. Actively manage the system to generate certifications within the turnaround goal for the certification
cell. Maintain certification turnaround to fulfill the needs of shipping/receiving and customers. Manage outsource testing samples and reports to ensure turnaround and
conformance to quality characteristics. In addition to the job description
below, the Certification Technician is expected to collaborate with all other
Quality functions, Production and Shipping, providing resources and
assistance, and ensuring the consistent flow of product through the Quality

department.

Principle Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Verify the completion of all processing

requirements prior to generating the certification

o All processing steps have been tracked in Bluestreak

o All quality characteristics are

completed and within order specifications

o Test material hardness performed

and within specification

o Supplier
generated mechanical certification is attached (Orders that require mechanical

testing only).

o Verification

of all heat treat times and temperatures on corresponding furnace charts

o If

discrepancies are identified, take appropriate action to resolve the issue in a

timely manner including but not limited to:

▪ Open a

well detailed nonconformance.

▪ Notify

appropriate personnel

▪ Contact
customer for disposition
  • Generate

Certifications

o Generate
grammatically correct certification statements and meet the requirements of the
certification type including

accurately reflecting processing conditions and times

o When
required, verify that all processing conditions and times meet all

specifications attached to the order

o Include

all information required by customer purchase orders. Based on certification

type, provide the following information:

Furnace times

▪ Furnace

temperatures

▪ Quench/Cooling

medium

Final hardness results

▪ All order specifications are

referenced on the certification

▪ Other details as required by the

customer

o All
certifications must be signed electronically prior to distribution
  • Distribute certifications per work order instructions
  • Generate shippers as required
o Print shipper to proper location
  • Manage Outsourced Testing
o Review Cell and confirm Test

pieces were pulled

o Generate

accurate POs

o Coordinate

with Outsource Laboratories if needed

o Prepare

Samples for Shipment

o Work
with Shipping to facilitate sample transfer
  • Outsource

Lab Reports

o Review Outsource Lab Reports

▪ Attach to work order if

acceptable, complete Quality Data

▪ If unacceptable, generate
nonconformance and contact appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate return of test piece remnants if necessary

Minimum Requirements:

All hires

are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test amp; background check.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Acquire/maintain forklift

certification

Experience: Minimum of two years of heat-treating experience

preferred.
