Sr Network Engineer; HYBRID
Overview:
One of our legal clients in the Boston, MA area has an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity for a hybrid Senior Network Engineer. This is an excellent opportunty for someone who wants to grow their IT experience with an exciting company with a supportive work culture.
This role will be full-time, hybrid (onsite required Tuesdays through Thursdays and remote Mondays and Fridays.) Hourly rate ranges from $75-$82/hr. This is a six month contract-to-hire opportunity. If hired on, there is an excellent benefits package and profit sharing opportunities.
The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and engineering support of the organization's networking and telephony infrastructure. Focuses on optimizing stability, availability, reliability, and performance.Monitors and controls infrastructure processes, and implements system security to provide stable and secure systems platforms. Assists with or conducts the implementation of new or additional infrastructure technology to augment and improve infrastructure service, both locally and remotely.
Assists with resource and workload management and capacity planning. Effectively manages computing equipment and infrastructure software life-cycles, providing input into budget preparation. Requires rotating on-call for after-hours support. Some overnight travel as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provides full infrastructure design, planning, configuration, documentation, deployment and top-level support ownership of computing infrastructure technologies.
- Working with the Network & Telephony Manager develops documented firm standards for network and telephony technology. Ensures adherence to those standards and continues to monitor.
- Coordinates and manages changes to the production network environment including partnering with vendors to manage updates.
- Assists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends and their advantages with the ability to make recommendations for improving technology used by the organization.
- Assists in negotiations and recommendations of software and hardware purchasing agreements.
- Participates in and/or manages cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology.
- Cross-trains other IT staff in the use or maintenance of technology.
- Effectively manages medium to large projects, including writing of the project charter.
- Assists in maintaining a lab environment for development purposes.
- Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the organization as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
Min: USD $75.00/Hr.
Max: USD $82.00/Hr.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional(CCNP)
- Palo Alto Security Engineer
- 8+ years’ experience in relevant technology and business skills as detailed above.
- Cisco Call Manager 10.5.x or higher
- Cisco Unity Connection.
- Palo Alto Firewall ( DLP, SSL-Decryption, NAT, URL filtering, VPN)
- Aruba Wireless (Campus and Remote)
- Aruba Clearpass Policy Manager.
- Cisco Meeting Server and collaboration end points.
- Cisco Telepresence/Tandberg video server and end points.
- Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft DNS, WINS and DHCP. • WAN technologies such as MPLS, VPLS, Metro-Ethernet, DS1/DS3, OC3.
- Cisco switches & routing solutions including IOS and Nexus product lines Routing/Voice protocols ( BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MGCP, SIP, H323)
- Network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, AAA (RADIUS/TACACS) 802.1x, IPSEC VPN.
