Assistant Teacher (Integrated Early Learning Center-Early Childhood Education)
Overview:
The Assistant Teacher I will support the teachers who serve a varied population of students with typical and neuro-diverse abilities in the Integrated Early Learning Center. The incumbent assists with the implementation of the program as outlined and with adapting instruction that meets the individual academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of the students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising teacher with the implementation of instruction and evaluation aspects of the classroom in accordance with students’ individualized plans using effective strategies for academic and behavioral success.
- Complete instructional-related duties as assigned by supervising teacher and administrators.
- Provide instruction, supervision, and classroom management under the direction of the supervising teacher.
- Implement behavioral protocols and assignments for students during instructional and noninstructional times.
- Utilize instructional and non-instructional time in a professional manner in keeping with administrative guidelines.
- Participate in and contribute to in-service training and staff meetings.
- Provide support and leadership for curricular and extra-curricular activities that support student-life and promote a positive school experience.
- Assist with the implementation of technology in instructional design and delivery in accordance with supervising teacher’s directions.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have or be able to obtain the 90-hour Preschool Training Certification within thirty days of hire.
EDUCATION:
Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college equivalence required.
Additional relevant experience beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for this degree requirement at the discretion of the Director, Integrated Early Learning Center.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience working in a classroom of students with disabilities.
- Experience with pediatric population preferred
RELATED TRAINING:
Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Minimum pay range: USD $36,226.00/Yr.
Maximum pay range: USD $58,630.00/Yr.
