Overview:

Responsible for the day to day supervision and management of manufacturing operations and people. Supervises and trains production personnel, assigns work, implements policies and procedure improvements, ensures business objectives are met and is a champion of Quality and Safety.

Works with Plant Manager on all operations based processes. Will work with all groups to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and instruct employees on production equipment, standards, processes and objectives.
  • Communicate all daily, weekly, and monthly objectives with employees.
  • Work alongside Operations Team and the Plant Manager to schedule and assign all areas of production.
  • Review production paperwork and system data to ensure accuracy; maintain productivity and performance data for operations.
  • Responsible for meeting and monitoring production goals, including but not limited to: Labor Costs, Scrap Costs, Quality, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Participate in employee hiring, training, discipline and performance management.
  • Ensure product quality and initiate action to prevent nonconformities in product, equipment or processes.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, implementing cost reductions, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within production areas.
  • Communicate production status with internal and external co-workers; provide updates and information to assist in Customer Service and Satisfaction.
  • Knowledgeable about technical aspects of machine use and operation.
  • Works with operations teams to maintain production standards and efficiencies.
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends, on and off the machines, for call offs as well as equipment approval when needed on short notice.
  • Promote safety programs and policies in order to prevent incidents and provide safe working environment for all employees.
  • Is a member of the safety committee.
  • Follows all company and local work rules, safety rules, and policies.
  • Schedule overtime as needed with involvement of Operations Team and Plant Manager.
  • Participate in all relevant Production, Quality, and Safety Meetings.
  • Provides daily tasks to improve plant scorecard metrics for Delivery to Promise.
  • Performs daily tasks to Improve plant scorecard metrics, and provide consistency in production processes.
  • Performs daily Audits to verify that all Specification Sheets, and off-line Quality Checks are being performed accurately, and to our written Standard Procedure.
  • Participate in Team Root Cause Investigations.
  • Provides guidance in Corrective Actions, and communicates all results with Employees.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Relevant experience in lieu of education requirements.
  • Minimum High School Graduate but prefer some Business Related College courses.
  • 5 years of experience, minimum, in a manufacturing leadership role or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
  • Professional, organized, diligent and a logical thinker.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer based applications including Syteline or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of employees
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of organization from production floor to management

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required. The ability to define and manage expectations is critical. The ability to make sound decisions and actions is required.

Ability to access risk associated with product compliance and regulation and awareness of when to communicate changes to risk.
