Automotive Security Intern
Bosch Research and Technology in Pittsburgh is seeking a passionate, experienced researcher intern to contribute to applied cryptography, security, privacy, and embedded systems projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to conduct applied research with real-world impact on Bosch’s business.
Our team works on diverse research initiatives, including automotive system security, IT security applications, and security for and with machine learning. We especially encourage applicants with a track record of designing, building, and evaluating secure systems to apply.
Required Qualification:
- Expertise in Security: Strong knowledge of embedded systems security, particularly in the area of embedded software security
- Real-Time Embedded Systems Proficiency: Solid understanding of real-time operating systems and embedded systems principles, design, and their applications in security contexts
- Programming and HW Debugging Skills: Proficiency in low-level programming languages for embedded systems, especially C and Assembly, with experience using debugging interfaces such as JTAG and UART as well as hardware description languages for FPGAs such as Verilog and VHDL
Desired Qualification:
- Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience with real-time automotive operating systems, architectures such as AUTOSAR, and automotive network protocols
- Track Record: Demonstrated capability in contributing to innovative solutions through a strong publication record in reputable conferences/journals or evidence of impactful contributions such as patents or open-source projects
- On-site Internship
- Duration: 12 weeks
