Machine Op III - Cook (3am - 1pm)

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of routine tasks in food manufacturing as a line cook to ensure recipes reach highest quality of food based on product specifications.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-check equipment to ensure proper operation and make adjustments as appropriate.
  • Mix ingredients per product specification and formulation.
  • Load and unload ingredients into tanks per specifications.
  • Communicate the order of product to be cooked.
  • Properly label equipment to match product being cooked.
  • Take and record time/temperature per product specification.
  • Records information – maintains process records on machine checklist.
  • Utilizes lock-out/ tag-out procedures when needed as appropriate.
  • Ability to comprehend and successfully operate DSI system.
  • Must stay within assigned work area.
  • Responsibilities often require overtime, and weekend hours.

Position Qualifications:

  • Must possess basic math skills and proficiently read and write in English.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach in place, bend and use proper lifting techniques.
  • Must have general knowledge of equipment used in designated area.
  • Ability to comprehend Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements and procedures.
  • Ensures all procedures follow GMP’s governmental regulations as well as the Company’s policies and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the work environment, plants, or offices. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Lifting requirements are up to 75 lbs. Exposure to loud industrial-type environments is commonly found in plants. Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
