Requirements:
- The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for:
- Diesel and Gas Engines
- Diesel Generators
- Various types of military equipment
- This job requires a minimum of three years' work related experience. A two-year technical degree in electronics is preferred but not required
- EW/RF radar technician experience with experience in general system theory, interfacing to test and training range infrastructure, and component-level repair of radar systems
- Must have detailed understanding of electronics theory, network theory, and test equipment used for maintenance and repair of various equipment and data distribution systems
- Possess the ability to apply knowledge to the maintenance functions of these systems
- Ability to troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs
- Ability to carry out job requirements with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to perform and maintain related technical/administrative additional duties
- Ability to diagnose the cause of equipment failure, using troubleshooting skills, knowledge of electronic principles, and analysis of wiring diagrams and circuits, and usage of applicable test equipment is required
- Ability to repair said failures down to individual components is also required
- A basic familiarity with Windows software is required
- Advanced knowledge of electronic test equipment used for preventive and remedial maintenance; e.g., oscilloscope, volt-ohm meters, frequency counters and generators, logic analyzers/emulators, computers, spectrum analyzers, power meters and waveform monitors
- Ability to perform maintenance, operations and preventive maintenance as required, using the applicable test equipment
- Must demonstrate expertise and initiative in daily activities and display a professional attitude towards customers and fellow employees at all times
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Typical environment to include working outdoors, primarily in cold/artic conditions
- Work will be performed on elevated heights and in remote work areas
- Position requires attending meetings with government and contract employees
- Constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents and performance operations and maintenance
- Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness
- Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data
- Ability to travel as required by the company
- Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, moderate lifting (45 pounds) and climbing

Desired Skills:
- Direct experience operating or maintaining FSU threat radar systems to the component level desired
- Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred
Description:
SRC is hiring an Radar Technician for their Eielson AFB location in Alaska.
The Electronics Radar Technician provides operation, maintenance, and sustainment for FSU Threat Radar systems at the JPARC on Eielson, AFB. Maintenance responsibility will be to the component level and require interfacing with system engineering staff.It is highly desirable to have exposure to the multiple frequency band versions of these systems.
- Work requires the ability to understand system level operation as well as system level diagnosis for repair, maintenance, and sustainment
- Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles, in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations
- Applies the principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and devices related to all aspects of radar, to include transmitters, receivers servo systems, mixers and switches, amplifiers, and wiring
- Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
- Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments
- Receives technical guidance as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices
- May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians
- Performs other related duties as required
