Accounting Assistant - Tampa

Robert Half is seeking a Sr. AP Specialist for a growing team in downtown St. Pete! This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work 3 days a week and remote work 2 days a week. This is a contract to hire opportunity paying $55-$60k on a permanent capacity.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure timely capture of expenditures and processing of payments for separate entities and vendors
• Identify and implement processes that will allow the accounts payable function to scale as the company grows
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies associated with payment processing
• Establish and maintain relationship with new (incl. vendor set up/W9 requests) and existing vendors
• Verify GL account coding and accuracy of expense reports
• Collaborate effectively with the finance team to ensure a fast and smooth month-end close
• Ensure vendor receives 1099 forms and resolve all issues
• Develop and document key controls and procedures
• Coordinate, and support special projects as needed

Job Requirements:

• Associate degree required, preferably in Accounting or related field; BA/BS a plus
• Prior accounts payable experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to meet established deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to self-review
• Write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Ability and willingness to share knowledge with peers and across all levels of the firm
• Ability to gather information, review documentation, ask appropriate questions and perform research Microsoft Excel, Daily Mail, Inter-Office Mail, Scanning Invoices
