Engineering Manager

Work directly for a Lehigh County PA specialty manufacturing company.

Engineering Manager:

Daily Functions:

1. Will be responsible for quoting tooling cost, material weight per foot and running rates for new products.
2. Will negotiate final quality expectations and tolerances with customers prior to any tool build.
3. Design and build of secondary operations. Routers, saw fixtures, tape applicators
4. Work with outside tool shops making punches, metal coatings, heat treating.
5. Develop specifications and coordinate downstream equipment purchases. Pullers, cutters, saws, screws, compressors, etc.
6. Troubleshoot processes in the manufacturing environment and develop and implement solutions to ongoing difficulties.
7. Train operators in both practical and theoretical extrusion process during development tests. You will have one operator trainee at all times working for you.
8. Work closely with the manufacturing department.
9. Should have knowledge of feed screw design and screw selection for different materials.
10. Will be responsible for maintaining engineering records, both electronic and hard copy
11. Most communications are done through the customers engineers and marketing personnel.

1. AutoCad 2015 - All design and part drawings done here.
2. Esprite - Design drawings taken from AutoCad and imported to Esprite for EDM programming.
3. AutoDesk 360 - Design drawings taken from AutoCad and imported to 360 for CNC programming. We also are working on programming the CNC Router in the secondary area with this software.

1. Charmilles 300, used for larger parts and 3 axis with high angles.
2. Charmilles 240, Submersible EDM. Used for smaller parts and cutting most of our straight cuts.
3. CNC Mill - Fryer MB-15 2.5 axis milling
