Learning and Events Specialist, Amazon Transportation Services (ATS)

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist partners with stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop comprehensive training strategies, and implement effective learning programs that drive business impact through various delivery methods.

They will analyze data to measure program effectiveness, and continuously optimize learning solutions while building strong relationships with business leaders and cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to building short- and long-term learning strategies, building awareness of L&D offerings, communicating program improvements and updates, conducting needs analysis, collaborating with stakeholders and business leaders, and working with instructional designers and subject matter experts to develop or modify programs that impact our business.

The L&D Specialist will need to build working relationships with leaders and key stakeholder groups both face to face (or virtually) and across geographies. The candidates in this role are expected to continually listen to customers, dive deep to understand the learning needs, use data and insights into the business to identify learning methods, materials or technology that will enhance the learning experience.

A day in the life

As an experienced Learning & Development professional, you lead comprehensive learning initiatives from initial needs assessment through implementation. You will build e-learning assets that impact both straightforward and complex organizational challenges.

You can maintain an optimal balance between time, quality, and resources by using an approach that involves continuous measurement of program effectiveness. You ensure content remains relevant and engaging, while maintaining clear communication with cross-functional partners as an owner for our live events support, content health, FAQ health, translations, and content design.

About the team

The Relay Education and Events (R2E) designs training and events that help 3rd party carriers work more effectively with the Relay Network. • Bachelors degree in any domain or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred certifications in Training / Learning and Development
  • Experience in a Learning and Development role (assessing learning gaps, designing and developing solutions, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs)
  • Experience analyzing and translating data into informative reports and visuals
  • Experience with people development, coaching, and L&D frameworks
  • Experience with multi-calendar management in multiple time zones, meeting coordination, travel coordination, and event planning
  • Proven results managing projects or coordinating events, including goal tracking, reporting, budgeting, contract submissions, PO and invoice processing, and process improvement
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and attendees
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Word)• Program management experience, including defining program roadmaps and phases for large-scale change, planning projects and change, working with business stakeholders to plan and execute effectively, communicating transparently through status reports and meetings, and building mechanisms to monitor quality post-launch.
  • Managing and improving learning programs, including managing registration on LMS, attendance, and completion experiences, learning experience design and support, coordinating learning development and delivery, and monitoring quality through reporting and monthly business reviews.
  • Applying a continuous improvement approach to program and project delivery (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Producing reports and business reviews that leverage data, insights, and anecdotes to engage leaders and make decisions quickly.
  • Defining, designing, and delivering reporting on key performance metrics for a learning program, e.g., attendance, evaluations, assessments, and impact.
  • Knowledge on QuickSight and any other PM tools.
  • Experience leading projects through influence and impact within a team.
  • Ability to travel to events to support on-site as needed.
  • Familiarity with large event/tradeshow environments and managing complex schedules.
