The Role: What You’ll Do

As the High School Statistics Teacher at Veritas Prep for the 2025-2026 school year, you will empower students to interpret and analyze data effectively while introducing them to the powerful world of statistics. Your classroom will focus on fostering critical thinking and real-world application of statistical concepts, allowing students to develop skills that are essential for success in higher education and beyond.

You will create a dynamic learning environment that encourages questioning, collaboration, and exploration of statistical principles.

You’ll also:

  • Design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans for both introductory and advanced statistics courses
  • Incorporate technology and statistical software into lessons to enhance student learning and understanding
  • Facilitate student-led discussions that promote inquiry and deepen understanding of statistical analysis
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to support their academic growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop school-wide curricula and projects aligned with statistical standards
  • Foster a classroom environment that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all students feel valued and supported
  • Engage in continuous professional development to refine your teaching practices and stay current with best practices in statistics education
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and the community to enhance the educational experience

Requirements

What You'll Need
  • A deep passion for statistics and a desire to share that passion with high school students
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable classroom where all students feel empowered to succeed
  • A strong understanding of statistical concepts and their practical applications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Education, or a related field
  • Two or more years of high school teaching experience, preferably in mathematics or statistics
  • Possession of a valid teaching license in Mathematics (Secondary) or ability to obtain such a license
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology and data analysis tools for classroom instruction
  • Current authorization to work in the United States by the start date of employment

Benefits

Veritas Prep offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit packages that include the following:

  • Salary Range for this position is $50,000 - $90,000, exclusive of fringe benefits.
  • If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
  • In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.

About Veritas Prep

Veritas Prep is a public, tuition-free school in Springfield that prepares students in grades 5 through 12 to compete, achieve, and succeed in college and beyond.
