Team Lead

Overview:

Reports To: Store Manager

Location:

Status: Hourly

The Team Lead collaborates with dispatchers and other team members to maintain an efficient and well-organized yard, delivering building materials safely to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

1. Conduct inventory cycle counts and audits to maintain accurate records.
2. Inspect and document incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
3. Organize and label inventory for efficient access and retrieval.
4. Address inventory discrepancies or damage promptly.

Yard Operations:

1. Load and unload inventory onto customer and company vehicles safely and efficiently.
2. Stage materials for outgoing deliveries as directed by the dispatcher.
3. Maintain yard organization and cleanliness.
4. Assist customers with loading and unloading materials, ensuring excellent service.

Logistics and Support:

1. Collaborate with the dispatcher to optimize material staging and outgoing delivery schedules.
2. Communicate with vendors and customers during pickups or deliveries to ensure accuracy.

Special Projects and Cross-Training:

1. Participate in projects to improve yard efficiency or inventory processes.
2. Provide occasional backup support for other operational roles as needed.

Delivery Support:

1. Safely and professionally deliver building materials to customers, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

Collaborative Support:

1. Be adaptable and open to assisting with additional tasks as assigned to support the evolving needs of the door shop department and contribute to company objectives.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma preferred, but not required.
• Experience:
• Prior experience in inventory control, logistics, or yard operations preferred.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using hand trucks, forklifts, and basic inventory software systems.
• Knowledge of building materials and related products is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform physical labor in an outdoor environment.
