Reliability Test Technician

This role involves setting up and conducting mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing, working closely with engineers to improve product design and reliability.

responsibilities:

• Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of new and existing medical devices.
• Set up and operate test stands, environmental chambers, and life test equipment.
• Perform failure analysis and teardown testing to identify design improvements.
• Document test configurations, maintain test records, and create detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to validate design changes and troubleshoot product issues.
• Ensure all testing procedures comply with safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in testing, lab work, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of electromechanical systems and ability to detect abnormalities.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Skills Needed:

• Experience with mechanical gauging instruments (micrometers, calipers, force gauges, dial indicators, hardness testers).
• Working knowledge of pneumatics and measurement test equipment.
• Solid organizational and communication skills to relay test results effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AA degree or equivalent technical education
• 1-2 years of mechanical or electrical experience (internship experience for engineering grads is a plus).
• Knowledge of PLC, Ladder Logic, and microcontrollers is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental testing (shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, electromagnetic).
