ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR PURCHASING MANAGER:
- Responsible to ensure raw material supply and cost objectives are met or exceeded by establishing and controlling raw material inventories.
- Investigate variances from planned targets and establish their root cause. Formulate and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Purchasing manager collaborates with managers and peers to fulfill internal and external customer requirements.
- Meets regularly with manufacturing and sales personnel to provide supply chain perspective when developing customer proposals.
- Facilitates efficient production schedule.
- Review supplier performance and product quality.
- Identify and address supply chain risk by assessing vendor capabilities and supplier performance for impact on the company.
- Ensures alternative sourcing in critical areas to mitigate risk and reduce cost.
- Follows Work Instructions, procedures, and company policies, including safety procedures and quality systems requirements.
