It is currently managing and progressing a significant portfolio of operational and development stage solar+ battery storage projects. Primergy Solar is a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and represents Quinbrook’s principal solar and solar plus energy storage investment platform in North America.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Procurement, will play an integral role in Primergy’s significant growth by supporting the Procurement team’s processes, procedures, supplier relationships, and analytics. Utilizing existing procurement resources, the role is focused on maintaining supplier relationships, contracts, as well as RFPs, building out new relationships with strategic suppliers, purchasing high voltage long lead equipment, as well as assisting in forecasting future costs of key solar and energy storage suppliers.

A successful candidate will have experience in supply chain, vendor management, and process management, ideally within the solar and energy storage industry.

Responsibilities Include
  1. Commercial Operations: The candidate will lead the procurement of high voltage ancillary equipment and transformer equipment, with potential involvement in additional equipment and service categories based on their experience. Responsibilities in this area include:
  2. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, continually enhancing Primergy’s network of trusted suppliers.
  3. Demand Forecasting: Work directly with Primergy’s development team and utilize internal software platforms to anticipate and align with upcoming equipment needs.
  4. End-To-End Procurement: Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including
  5. Identifying qualified suppliers;
  6. Preparing bid request documents;
  7. Analyzing and comparing incoming bids;
  8. Selecting suppliers and negotiating supply agreements; and
  9. Transitioning finalized agreements to the applicable project executive.
  10. Expanded Scope: Depending on project needs and candidate expertise, responsibilities may also include supporting procurement for EPC contracts, module supply agreements, and battery storage contracts.

Additional tasks include:

  1. Maintaining a comprehensive supplier database, including contact details, strengths, weaknesses, geopolitical risks, and other key factors.
  2. Working with existing procurement resources to prepare management and board presentations for approval of procurement activities.
  3. Analyzing supplier proposals and third-party data to develop accurate price and schedule forecasts.
  4. Support establishment of form contracts and amendments of existing agreements outside of the products listed above when necessary/requested.
  5. Support cost analysis of procurement activities outside of the products listed above when necessary/requested.
  6. Process Maintenance and Development: The candidate will adhere to, maintain, and refine processes specific to contract management and procurement, such as RFP formation, document repository, contract administration, price forecasting, and supplier communications.
  7. Outside Projects: This role offers opportunities to collaborate across departments to support Primergy’s mission of developing, building, and operating best-in-class projects. Responsibilities may include:
  8. Assisting with the negotiation and execution of EPC contracts, solar module supply agreements, and battery storage agreements.
  9. Supporting cost analysis and contract development efforts for these and other critical areas as requested.
  10. Engaging in creative problem-solving to address challenges and identify innovative solutions that benefit the broader Primergy team.

Education and Experience Requirements
  1. - Requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly progressive experience in procurement, contract management, asset management, operations or a similar function.
  • Experience in the energy industry is required; experience in solar and/or energy storage is preferred.
