Physical Therapist I- Inpatient Acute Rehab PER DIEM

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in a variety of inpatient and/or outpatient areas as assigned. Performs other clinical, teaching and administrative duties as may be required.

Responsibilities:
- 1. Clinical
- 1.1 Able to interpret physician referrals to perform basic clinical evaluations.
- 2. Educational
- 2.1 Attends department in-services.
- 3. Administration
- 3.1 Complies with Hospital and Department Policies and Procedures.
- 4. Clinical Supervision
- 4.1 Participates in regular meetings with supervisor and/or team leader and reports pertinent information on a timely basis.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Graduate of a CAPTE accredited program in Physical Therapy.
EXPERIENCE
No experience required, but one (1) to two (2) experience in an academic medical center based practice preferred. Experience working with children and/or adults depending on the assigned setting. Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic and traumatic
LICENSURE
Must maintain a current unrestricted license or temporary permit to practice as a Physical Therapist in CT
SPECIAL SKILLS
The individual should demonstrate knowledge in physical therapy theory, evaluations, and treatment techniques to be applied to a diverse patient population of varying ages. Observation skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), and an ability to work with patients, families and other providers in a synergistic manner are essential.The individual should also be willing and able to assume increased responsibilities as required. Demonstrates a high level of independence and leadership in assigned clinical area. Communication and interpersonal skills must be at a level to effectively work with a broadly diverse patient population and workforce.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Requires: exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials and communicable diseases; long periods of standing and walking; lifting and positioning of patients.
