OUr client is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and customer service skills, with 2-4 years of experience in providing help desk support in a Windows-based environment.
This role requires hands-on expertise in workstation setup, hardware maintenance, and imaging, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with end-users to resolve technical issues efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 desktop and help desk support to end-users for software, hardware, and peripheral device issues.
- Set up, configure, and maintain Windows-based workstations, ensuring high reliability and optimal performance.
- Perform imaging and deployment of desktops, laptops, and other devices as needed.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating to higher levels of support when necessary.
- Maintain and repair hardware, including desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Document all issues and resolutions thoroughly in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with IT team members on larger projects, such as system upgrades or migrations.
- Educate and assist end-users with IT processes and tools to improve their overall technology experience.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards for IT services.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Help Desk Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, or similar role in a Windows-based environment.
- Practical experience with workstation setup, hardware configuration, and PC imaging processes.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, including Windows OS troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and network environments is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical users.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and work under minimal supervision.
