HR Specialist

We are in search of an HR Specialist to join our team in Irving, Texas, in the service industry. This role involves sourcing and screening new recruits, as well as handling onboarding and mentoring new hires. The HR Specialist will be a main point of contact for new hires and will also be responsible for various administrative tasks.

This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Source potential candidates through various channels such as job boards, LinkedIn, and Indeed
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial evaluations of candidates
  • Handle onboarding of new recruits, ensuring a smooth transition into the company
  • Act as the main point of contact for new hires, answering any queries and providing necessary information
  • Conduct welcome calls and quality control calls to ensure new hires are settling in well
  • Collaborate with operations district managers to generate offer letters
  • Complete background checks on potential hires
  • Answer benefits-related questions from employees
  • Partner with vocational schools and military recruiting avenues for sourcing potential candidates
  • Perform administrative tasks including reporting on new permanent statistics
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other preferred software for record keeping and reporting. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HR Specialist role
  • Proficient in Onboarding and Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Experience in Mentoring New Hires and conducting New permanent Orientations
  • Ability to train new employees and conduct employee orientations
  • Strong understanding of Employee Relations and Customer Satisfaction
  • Experience in providing Administrative Assistance
  • Proficient in Benefits Administration
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
