The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing PLC programs and HMI interfaces for material handling equipment. With a strong foundation in PLC programming, the engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and optimize equipment performance.Job Responsibilities-Develop, test, and implement PLC programs to control material handling equipment.-Design and configure HMI interfaces to provide intuitive operator control and monitoring capabilities.-Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and customers to understand system requirements and translate them into effective PLC and HMI solutions.-Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PLC programs and HMI interfaces.-Provide ongoing support for equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.-Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to PLC programming and HMI development.Qualifications/Requirements-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.-Minimum of 4 years of experience in PLC programming, with a strong preference for the Rockwall platform.-Proven experience in HMI development and configuration.-Solid understanding of electrical control systems and automation principles.-Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.-Willingness to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.Preferred Qualifications-Experience with other PLC programming platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).-Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Modbus).
