Robert Half is currently seeking a Contract Network Engineer to join our client's IT department. As a Contract Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design: Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center networks, to meet the organization's requirements for performance, security, and scalability.
  2. Network Maintenance: Monitor and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  3. Security Implementation: Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to protect the network from external threats.
  4. Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, perform network testing, and work with end-users to provide technical support for network-related problems.
  5. Capacity Planning: Evaluate network performance and capacity, making recommendations for upgrades or changes to accommodate the organization's growth.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and updates to facilitate troubleshooting, auditing, and compliance.
  7. Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with network equipment vendors and service providers to manage procurement, service agreements, and vendor relationships.
  8. Network Optimization: Identify opportunities for network optimization and cost reduction while maintaining or improving network performance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network design and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with network security and best practices.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from various vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
