Human Resources Specialist II - Parsippany
Job Duties: Reporting to the Lead Human Resources Specialist, the Human Resources Specialist II will have the following specific job responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Human Resources Specialist to handle the full cycle of recruitment, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and follow-ups, performing background checks, and issuing offers;
- Perform the onboarding of new employees, including preparing and filing new hire paperwork, setting up benefits plans, leading orientation efforts, and facilitating training and development events;
- Handle voluntary and involuntary terminations, including by preparing termination paperwork, conducting exit interviews to make recommendations based on exit data, disbursing COBRA coverage and severance pay, and addressing unemployment notices;
- Conduct training on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment prevention, and confidentiality;
- Keep and maintain all employee files, and collaborate with management to complete employee assessments and maintain accurate job descriptions for all employees;
- Keep payroll attendance and PTO records for the companys multi-state workforce to ensure the time collected is accurately paid in accordance with common pay rules, site rules, and under federal laws and labor law;
- Perform benefits administration, open enrollment, and information sessions for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and 401(k) benefits; serve as the point of contact for insurance brokers and vendors;
- Work with the Lead Human Resources Specialist to administer company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements;
- Coordinate and execute employee activities throughout the year, such as teambuilding activities, holiday parties, and strategy meetings, to build morale and rapport among the employees;
- Oversee administrative tasks to ensure smooth internal operations, report any potential issues to the Lead Human Resources Specialist, and maintain the workspace, including office insurance, fire inspection, office supply purchasing, office maintenance, budgeting, etc.; and
- Support employment-based visa cases for all foreign national employees and coordinate with external attorneys on all related document preparation and qualification assessment.
Work Hours: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Education Requirements: Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
Required knowledge must include the following:
(1) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in managing workforce flow; (2) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in HR decision-making, including data-based decisions and financial decisions; (3) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in managing rewards systems; (4) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in developing human capital; (5) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in labor markets; and
(6) Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field level of knowledge in employment law.
