SAS & CO Trucking is currently hiring qualified class A drivers out of our Burlington NJ terminal. We have a need for several new drivers in NJ to help us keep up with our customers demand. We are still very busy and will be able to get you the miles that you need.

We run long haul freight in all of the United States. You can go be gone for up to 7 days, or home every other night.Long hauls loads are mostly dry van freight for WI, TN, IN, KY, MI, GA, AL, MO, PA, NC, SC, OH, NJ, NY, CT, MA, DE, MD, VA, In addition to these long haul lanes we have dozens of regional routes around the Tri state area. Drivers on these routes are home every other night.
You can do a mix of the OTR and regional. Go long one week, stay regional the next, that kind of thing.
Duties: Call 732-387-3815
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer.
- Drive assigned routes and ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to maintain a safe driving record.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A) with the appropriate endorsements for the type of truck being operated.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years.
- Experience driving various types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of long hours on the road and loading/unloading cargo.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Maintains driver log according to FMCSA regulations.
- Responsible for securing load on the trailer.
- Position cargo on trailer so it is legal according to FMCSA regulations and state laws. Weigh the truck trailer as needed.
- Read bill of lading to determine location and manage your time according to deadlines and appointments while following FMCSA regulations.
- Notify mechanic of services on maintenance of truck and or trailer. Make sure correct level of DEF, washer fluid, antifreeze etc.
- Obtains customer’s signature upon delivery. If a BOL is not available from the customer, create one.
- Wash truck and trailer and keep cab of truck clean.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
- Minimum 6 months driving experience with vehicles such as box truck, straight truck, bus, semi, or another commercial vehicle.
- Have or be willing to get DOT physical.
- At least 25 years of age, for insurance requirements.
