Registered Nurse Float, Med Surg - RNFMS24-14015

Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg and Float, you will provide high-quality nursing care across various medical-surgical units. Your ability to adapt to different patient care environments will be crucial in delivering effective and compassionate care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ medical conditions, identifying changes and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and modify patient care plans, ensuring individualized and effective care delivery.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health, promptly addressing any changes in condition and communicating with the healthcare team.
• Safely administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed, observing for side effects and reactions.
• Provide education and resources to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
• Flexibly move between different Med Surg units as needed, adapting to varying patient needs and unit protocols.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment to stabilize patients in various situations.
• Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and families during hospital stays, addressing concerns and fostering a caring environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active RN license in Michigan.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg nursing preferred; experience in a float role is a plus.
