Purchase Specialist

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist in Linthicum, Maryland, United States. This role is primarily based in the logistics and supply chain industry and will involve working closely with various departments to manage purchase orders, track products, and generate detailed sales reports.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and maintain part numbers and descriptions for products
• Promptly issue purchase orders to vendors within the agreed timeframes
• Oversee sample product tracking and coordinate with warehouse for inventory management
• Ensure efficient tracking, documentation, and organization of product samples received from vendors, competitors, and customers
• Create and present a weekly report detailing sales samples sent to customers and ensure timely follow-up by the sales team
• Utilize various accounting software systems and ERP solutions for smooth workflow
• Maintain effective communication channels with B2B Sales and Post-Sales Support teams
• Adhere to purchasing policies and planning procedures to ensure efficient buying processes
• Support the purchasing department in managing and procuring materials
• Handle accounts payable (AP) and other accounting functions as required.
• Proficiency in 3M and IBM AS/400
• Expertise in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledge of Buying Processes
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in B2B Sales, Business sales, Post-Sales, Post-Sales Support, Print sales, and Sales Activity
• Proficiency in Purchasing Procurement, Purchasing software, Purchasing systems, and Support purchasing
• Familiarity with Purchasing Policies, Purchasing planning, Purchasing Materials, Purchasing Management, Purchasing Functions, and Purchasing Department
• Experience in managing Purchase Orders
• Ability to work with 'About Time' software.
• Proficiency in English language, both written and verbal.
