Manager, Community Engagement - Richmond

We are seeking a Manager, Community Engagement, to join our growing and dynamic team in support of Amazon’s community engagement, social impact, and corporate responsibility goals in priority regions where our operational footprint exists in the U.S.

The candidate will serve as a key member of Amazon’s U.S. community engagement team, supporting and driving hyperlocal initiatives with local community stakeholders, public sector entities, private industry and business groups, non-profits, and neighborhood groups.

As a part of the role, the candidate will lead strategic development and coordination between community-facing teams against key goals and performance indicators to deliver results. The role will require the management of specific hyperlocal giving initiatives throughout the U.S., the ability to produce high-quality reporting for leadership decision making, and to create authentic and engaging narratives describing Amazon’s hyperlocal activities.

This position will report to the Director, Community Engagement.

This remote position will be based in Virginia.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in community relations, corporate social responsibility, public policy, economic development, or equivalent experience.
  • An ability and desire to travel is required.
  • Juris Doctorate, Master’s Degree, or other Advanced Degree.
  • Experience developing and executing external affairs, community relations, and/or corporate social responsibility strategies in a corporate environment.
  • Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, political, and community levels for a diverse variety of audiences.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-profile relationships with community partners and civic leaders.
