A leading University in Newark is seeking an onsite Public Health Research Coordinator to engage in population health equity , health services, and implementation science research.

Title: Public Health Research Coordinator
Pay rate: $32/hr
Hours per week: Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
Location: Newark, NJ
Duration: 12 months, can be hired permanent in the future.

SUMMARY: (Basic purpose of the job)

We are seeking a motivated, skilled, and detail-oriented Public Health Research Coordinator to engage in population health equity , health services, and implementation science research in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology.

This role involves managing research studies, coordinating data collection and analysis, and contributing to the preparation of manuscripts, grant applications, and program development. collaborators, community partners and federally qualified health centers.

Experience with administrative datasets and research tools such as REDCap is highly valued. This position offers opportunities for mentorship, participation in impactful clinical and community-based studies, and co-authoring publications to advance cancer research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  1. Coordinate all phases of research protocols, including initiation, activation, execution, and close-out.
  2. Plan and implement research activities, including the daily operations of projects, ensuring alignment with study objectives.
  3. Manage participant recruitment, screening, and enrollment activities while obtaining informed consent and providing necessary information about research activities.
  4. Collect, manage, and analyze research data derived from interviews, surveys, administrative datasets, and electronic medical records from observational and intervention studies.
  5. Conduct literature reviews, qualitative interviews, and data analyses to support study objectives.
  6. Prepare and manage research documentation, study tools, and materials, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements such as Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and amendments.
  7. Prepare reports, manuscripts, grant applications, and presentations for academic and community audiences, contributing as a co-author to peer-reviewed publications and scientific meetings.
  8. Develop pilot projects, design data collection forms, and refine data collection procedures.
  9. Work with community partners to develop and implement interventions and foster collaborative relationships.
  10. Conduct data synthesis, maintain datasets, and ensure the safekeeping and integrity of research data.
  11. Provide administrative support, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and responding to inquiries related to research projects. confidentiality and integrity in all activities.
  12. Assist in identifying funding opportunities and securing research funding.
  13. Stay updated on and adhere to organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards, maintaining.
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in Public Health or Master of Science with concentration in health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field plus three (3) years of related research experience.

Coursework in research design, statistics, biostatistics, health informatics, or data management is required. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.

Familiarity with software such as STATA, SAS, or R, Atlas.ti or similar qualitative analysis tools, and Endnote or Reference Manager.

Candidate must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. Strong research writing and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Experience in health disparities, health services, and/or implementation science research is preferred.

Pay Details: $32.00 per hour
