Who We Seek

Hispanic Federation seeks a Director for Talent Development in performing various activities in the areas of recruiting, orientation/onboarding, retention, and professional development within the organization. With the support of the fuller HR Team, the Director will liaise with programs on their hiring needs, implement structures for hiring to maximize HF’s outreach efforts, and support in implementing professional development plans.

The successful candidate has experience working with a diverse team of committed and like-minded individuals, an interest in supporting the growth of a national organization, and an understanding of Human Resources fundamentals. The position will be based out of the New York City Headquarters, though other locations may be considered.

Hispanic Federation is a hybrid work environment and requires staff to be onsite 50% of the time (total of 10 days per month, at least one day per week).

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the recruitment process, working with hiring manager(s) and the HR Generalist to identify program needs, ensure budgets align with hiring plans, and deciding on proactive outreach plans.
  • Oversee the screening of resumes and support with first interviews and on-site interviews, support communication to all relevant program leads on hiring process.
  • Manage the onboarding and separation process for all incoming and departing employees, ensuring all departments are aware of staffing changes.
  • Ensure the quality of new hire orientation and benefits orientation to build a strong foundation for new employees and increase employee engagement
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews with separating employees, provide critical feedback to the administrative team and better the operations of the organization.
  • Optimize data quality by conducting regular audits and ensuring employee data is kept up to date and accurate, prepare for site visits by coordinating reviews of personnel files and all pertinent Human Resource records.
  • Assist with the delivery of training programs and maintain a training matrix for all internal and external employee training
  • Deploy digital tools available to Hispanic Federation, especially those tools available through its PEO, TriNet.
  • Assist management with the preparation and updating of job descriptions
  • Responds to routine inquiries regarding benefits, HR, corporate policies and procedures, paid time off issues, and/or provides the appropriate resources to address the issues in question.
  • Coordinate employee and manager training based on new implemented modules

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant work experience, specifically in Human Resources, Recruitment and Talent Acquisition and Management.
  • Certification by SHRM, HRCI or other certifying bodies are preferred but not required.
  • Exercise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, Spanish language fluency is a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a flexible and collaborative spirit.
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively with diverse and remote staff regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability and socio-economic circumstance.
  • Thorough understanding of the company HR policies and practices or ability to gain such knowledge
  • Must be able to function well in a fast-paced work environment, able to respond to multiple requests for assistance simultaneously
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and work under deadlines
  • Strong commitment to Hispanic Federation's mission and core values

Compensation

The salary range for this position is 70,000-$80,000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully paid medical, dental, vision insurance available as of the first day of employment, 403(B) retirement plan with a company match after 6 months of service, access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.

Full time employees enjoy 15 vacation days, and access to 8 sick days and 4 personal days.
