Director of Corporate Accounting
Our client, a rapidly growing, well capitalized world class leader in the energy sector, is recruiting for their new Director of Corporate Accounting. This highly visible and challenging position will provide hands on accounting leadership, as the company moves forward with cutting edge new global level projects. This role will clearly allow you to add your signature on the organization as the company’s global reach expands. As part of the core duties for this challenging Director of Corporate Accounting role you will:
Responsibilities:
- Manage the consolidated closing activities for the month, quarter and year end including managing the day to day activities for a strong team.
- Oversee and prepare closing journal, consolidation and intercompany entries as well as reconciliations, corporate and intercompany allocations as well as variance analyses
- Assume overall responsibility for the preparation of corporate level GAAP financial statements
- Act as the lead manager and mentor to the corporate accounting team including on training matters
- Continually assess accounting and closing procedures and make recommendations for process and systems improvements
- Work closely with other areas of finance and accounting including the FP& A group regarding variance analyses
- Coordinate closely with other teams including operational and project accounting, financial reporting as well as technical accounting teams to research and resolve accounting matters and related journal entries
- Review, create and maintain pertinent internal controls covering accounting transactions and areas of responsibility

Qualifications:
- CPA with 8+ years of experience preferably including prior Big 4/national CPA firm or public company experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidations experience
- Expertise in Excel including formulas for advanced data analysis.
- Proven technical written and executive level verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, including preparation of audited GAAP financial statements
- Solid experience with large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Prior experience managing a team in a changing and dynamic environment
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.
