How you make a difference:
The Occupational Therapist is dedicated to helping individuals overcome challenges related to physical, emotional, cognitive, psychological, and social dysfunctions. Through thoughtful assessment and personalized treatment plans, the Occupational Therapist empowers individuals to develop essential skills for daily living, independence, and overall well-being.This role involves not only direct therapy but also supervising treatment progress to ensure effective outcomes and enhance the quality of life for those served.
Key Responsibilities:
- OT Assessments and Environment Evaluation: Conducts occupational therapy (OT) assessments and evaluates the environment to make necessary adjustments for improving the individual’s functionality.
- Treatment Plan Development: Develops comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with treatment teams and medical professionals to address areas of dysfunction and promote recovery.
- Supervision of OT Interventions: Supervises the implementation of occupational therapy interventions to ensure proper execution and effectiveness.
- Individual and Group Therapy: Provides individual and group occupational therapy sessions and thoroughly documents services provided in accordance with standards.
- Program Development and Evaluation: Works with rehabilitation leadership to develop rehabilitation programs, evaluates their effectiveness, and helps individuals regain lost skills through structured therapy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
Experience:
- Preferred: Experience in a psychiatric hospital or secure setting.
Licenses:
- Required: Current license as an Occupational Therapist in state of practice.
