We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team located in PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island. As part of our team, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. This role involves working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensuring legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize bank deposits for multiple companies
- Manage cash receipts and apply them to customer accounts
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
- Match credit memos to outstanding invoices
- Prepare and input invoices into our accounting software
- Sort and match invoices to accounts payable checks and mail them
- Handle vendor and department inquiries
- Assist in preparing bank reconciliations
- Enter journal entries into the general ledger system
- Organize bulk mailings and maintain accounting records by making copies, filing documents
- Execute other general accounting support as needed.
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.
- Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) is expected.
- Proficient in Billing procedures.
- Ability to perform Data Entry tasks effectively.
- Experience in Invoice Processing is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
