Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Hours: 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
Half Hour Paid Lunch

Setting: Occupational Health Clinic
Location: Syracuse, NY

Position Overview: Need a dedicated, take-charge person that is respectful to providers.

Take initiative to help provide the best patient care.
Willing to help on the admin side with front desk help if needed.
Checking vitals, going over health chart, and reviewing patient's current medication.
Help the MA in the Albany office with processing forms, if needed.
Three Days a week with the possibility for a fourth day on Thursdays, in the future.
Responsible for preparing patients for medical examinations
Assisting healthcare providers in implementing patient care plans
Facilitating and expediting diagnostic. treatment procedures
Working with medical providers and administrative staff to optimize daily clinical operations.
Specific Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for medical evaluation, including but not limited to: obtaining vital signs; updating medical, surgical, and social history; reviewing and updating allergies and medications; and utilizing the EPIC medical record system appropriately.

Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG, Spirometry, Audiometry, Dynamometry, Phlebotomy, Urine Collection, Snellen Eye Examinations, and Hemoccult as needed.
Prepare charts for patient visits, including abstraction of charts, and printing test results when available.
Conduct pre-visit assessments.
Monitor information releases received from patients, ensuring that outside records are received in a timely manner.
Oversee maintenance of medical equipment, including calibration, battery checks, refrigeration temperature monitoring, maintaining sufficient clinical supplies, and monitoring expiration dates of various clinical supplies.
Provide support for phone and office reception services.

Assist with front-end administrative duties, including but not limited to checking patients in and out of the office.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant or LPN program, or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Current certification in CPR|BLS.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with phlebotomy, EPIC medical record system, and patient communications.
