Job Summary:
92NY seeks an Associate Director of Programs in School Engagement in the Arts (School Engagement) department, a team dedicated to delivering exceptional arts and humanities education to K-12 students and their teachers at public schools across New York City and beyond.
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED) of School Engagement in the Arts, the Associate Director of Programs (AD) provides key programmatic oversight of all programs. The position collaborates with the Associate Director and ED to manage the planning and implementation of department programming, including on-site performances, school-based residencies, professional development, internships and other initiatives.The AD of Programs develops and implements special projects and arts education initiatives in collaboration with colleagues in School Engagement and 92NY-wide staff.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Work with the Associate Director and Executive Director of School Engagement to develop and expand arts education programs for classrooms in collaboration with programming Centers across the institution, including 92NY’s Unterberg Poetry Center, Tisch Concerts, and Harkness Dance Center.
- Oversee department events and productions including school day field trips, evening mainstages performances, and other special initiatives and events.
- Coordinate the designs and development of curricula for school-based residencies that prepare students for their experience at 92NY live events.
- Oversee and execute program evaluation process by gathering data from program stakeholders via dissemination of surveys and organizing of focus groups.
- Raise the Department’s profile in the arts education community through participation at city- and nation-wide conferences, workshops, and off-site events.
- Manage recruitment of new and returning schools for all programs.
- Undertake other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by ED.
Experience, Education, & Skills Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of experience working in an arts adminstration and/or non-profit setting.
- Passionate about the arts and creating warm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments.
- Familiarity with a range of art forms, including contemporary literature, music, and dance.
- Experience working with public school students and teachers.
- Experience in curriculum design and pedagogical frameworks that support inquiry-based learning and foster conceptual thinking skills.
- Knowledge of a variety of current arts and educational issues, resources, and knowledge of the New York City DOE school system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diplomacy and clarity.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with program stakeholders.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong record-keeping ability.
Work Environment & Requirements:
40 hours/week. Typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with the ability to oversee select evening or weekend events.
Flexibility is required to work various programs and events on select evenings and weekends.

Compensation Range
$65,000 - $70,000
The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
