Job Title: Mechanical Installation Technician II Department: Field Services

Summary:
S&H Systems is a single-source, full-service systems integration company delivering dependable material handling systems, software, and post-sale support since 2002. The field services department is responsible for the installation of all integrated systems at our client sites across the country.
We are looking for a Mechanical Technician Level II. This qualified candidate will have experience in material handling in terms of assemble, install, dismantle, move, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems and be able to assist other Mechanical Technicians and other trades as assigned.Successful candidates will have experience working on deadline related projects and able to work well in a team environment with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.
Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but will serve as a coach and mentor for up to 3 others in a small crew.
- Provide supervision for standby support for small to medium size projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements.
- Perform routine work within technical area.
- Install, dismantle, move, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems.
- Complete and understand customer specific safety training and rules.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, levels, tape measures, etc.
- Use a laser lever and/or string line to ensure equipment is installed to specifications.
- Practice proper used of all company owned devices, email, computers, and web-based meetings.
- Operate hammer drill and anchor equipment.
- Helps other Mechanical Technicians and other trades as assigned.
- Perform intermediate conveyor preventative maintenance.
- Properly install air piping.
- Dock and safely unload and stage equipment from enclosed and flatbed trailers.
- Helps other Mechanical Technicians and other trades as assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with other employees and clients.

- Understand and manage Lockout/Tagout operations.
- Ability to be alert and know surroundings.
- Knowledge of the safe use of power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Ability to operate lift equipment and hold certificate for lift equipment training.
- Knowledge of basic belt tracking.
- Ability to read and use reference manuals.
- Advanced knowledge of conveyor vocabulary.
- Comprehensive knowledge of conveyor operation and maintenance.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot conveyor issues with minimal supervision.
- Ability to safely rigg and move equipment.
- Competent with multiple types and manufacturers.
- Have exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Have a can-do attitude and eager to learn new skills.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in material handling equipment or related field experience.
- OSHA 30 Training is current.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform in a physically demanding work environment.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Travel Requirement:
- Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend up to 75% of the time traveling to client project sites.
- Some travel on the weekends.
- Must be willing to be on call and willing to work weekends and off shifts while at installation sites.
