About the Role:

Our client, a leading architecture firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Designer III to join their Electrical Engineering team. This role is crucial in the planning and designing of electrical systems specifically for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

This position is ideal for an electrical engineer who is passionate about designing systems that enhance the functionality and safety of buildings, working closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure that each project meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering duties in planning and designing electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms.
  • Assist in the design elements to complete building projects, working with clear and specified objectives.
  • Prepare complete project documentation, including electrical plans, specifications, and due diligence reports.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work on multiple building projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, clients, officials, contractors, and other project team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Correct and update drawings, assist the project team, and ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, short circuit calculations, lighting plans, and perform photometric calculations specifically for building systems.
  • Perform on-site inspections of building electrical systems as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with a focus on building projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as SKM, AGI, and Visual.
  • Sound knowledge of the project development process for retail, commercial, and residential buildings.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious.
