Responsibilities:
As a member of the General Dynamics Financial Reporting Team, you will be responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements, and preparing filings for the Securities and Exchange Commission (10-Q, 10-K, 8K) and other regulatory filings.You will interact with senior leadership and business unit financial leaders across the globe to support General Dynamics’ continued success.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements including the statement of cash flows, internal management financial information and analysis, and the public earnings release.
- Prepare quarterly and annual Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), securities registration statements (Forms S-3, S-4) and other regulatory filings, as necessary.
- Research technical accounting matters and implement newly issued accounting standards and SEC rule-making releases across business units.
- Coordinate and prepare the quarterly and annual Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (Inline XBRL) reporting for SEC filings.
- Consult with business unit financial management on technical accounting matters.
- Prepare internal presentations on accounting and financial reporting matters for senior management, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with independent auditors to assist in audit requests.
Qualifications:
Education & Training Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job
- CPA
Experience Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience in “Big 4” public accounting or comparable relevant industry experience.
Other Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
- Ability to work with minimal direction, set priorities and handle multiple tasks and demonstrate good planning and organization skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completeness and accuracy.
- Sound professional communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
- Strong public speaking/presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Aerospace & Defense industry technical issues preferable.
- Full proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Workiva cloud-based SEC reporting tool or PowerBI is desirable.
- Must be willing to work in the CHQ office Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
