We are in search of an Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the legal industry, based in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The key focus of the role involves providing general counsel to clients, mainly not-for-profit companies and unions, corporate law, reviewing and revising contracts, and handling potential HR matters and corporate governance.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to our clients, predominantly not-for-profit organizations and unions.
• Handle a variety of general corporate legal matters.
• Review, revise, and negotiate contracts to ensure they align with company policies and legal regulations.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on HR matters, including the development and revision of employee handbooks.
• Manage and address employment-related issues and disputes.
• Assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures.
• Utilize case management software and Adobe Acrobat for efficient document management.
• Handle complaint administration and claim handling as required.
• Engage in contract renewals, modifications, and negotiations, ensuring adherence to contract law.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on employment law and employment policies.
• Handle matters related to corporate governance, including briefing and civil litigation when necessary. • Holder of a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Attorney/Lawyer
• Proficient in using 3M and Adobe Acrobat
• Experienced in utilizing Case Management Software
• Skilled in Conveyancer and Document Management
• Capable of Briefing, Civil Litigation, and Claim Administration
• Proficiency in Complaint Handling and knowledge about Consumer Electronics
• Familiarity with Contract Renewals, Contract Law, and Contract Negotiation
• Experienced in Contract Modifications
• Proficient in Employment Law and Employment Law - Employer
• Knowledge of Employment Policies
• Knowledge and experience in Corporate Governance
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Adherence to confidentiality and discretion in all matters
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Valid license to practice law in the state.
