Reports to: Regional Chief Operations Officer

SUMMARY: The

Regional Practice Leader, Business Insurance

is responsible for development and implementation of the strategic plan for the region Business Insurance sales and service teams by driving profitable client relationships and meeting retention goals while ensuring consistent operational excellence of client service and consultative sales support to sustain revenue growth and profitability of the department.

The Regional Practice Leader, Business Insurance works to ensure the insurance knowledge of our client-facing staff is sufficient for growth and retention of clients, and the execution of departmental objectives is in alignment with overall business strategies and objectives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works closely with agency leaders to develop and implement strategies to achieve profitability objectives.
Collaborates with Regional leadership to develop a consistent message and culture for the BI colleagues across the region.
Leads the development of operational strategy and business plans to create an environment capable of supporting growth while demonstrating our core values of integrity, collaboration, passion, innovation, and accountability.
Works with local office leaders to develop strategies to optimize market position with clients and carriers.
Participates in recruitment of new Producer candidates and assists in the sales selection process for hiring and developing new Producers capable of driving revenues to meet annual sales goals.
Manages expenses and maximizes revenue and field operating EBITDA in compliance with corporate guidelines to meet or exceed annual budget; manages risk associated with E&O avoidance.

Collaborates with company and industry leaders to support development of Practice through organic growth and acquisition while leading the practice through organizational change in support of a rapidly growing and dynamic business environment.

Evaluates and identifies resources necessary to align with key sales initiatives.
Regularly reviews current and new products and services offered by MMA and ensure awareness of these capabilities to our sales and service employees.
Maintain highest level of technical knowledge and understanding of legislative environment, market trends, carrier and MMA capabilities and how that can translate into regional agency growth.
Manages relationships with insurance carriers and vendors.
Acts as an Advisor for Producers on Sales Calls with Clients.
Provide insurance expertise and advice to producers and service staff on client specific issues, meeting directly with the client in support of the producer when needed.
Add Placement team , Risk Services and Strategic team engagement and cooperation.
Provide Marketing Leadership to Commercial Lines Staff and Marketing Specialist.
Serve as a conduit for communicating and leveraging MMA national resources.

Assist with integration of new agencies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. year College Degree in related field preferred.
10 years generalist BI leadership experience including strong knowledge of BI and risk management.

CIC or equivalent and/or CPCU preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing.
Must be detailed with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional relationship development skills and interpersonal skills working with management, peers and customers.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Computer literacy for correspondence, data entry, e-mail, Internet, Carrier websites, spreadsheets and accessing data from company systems.
Must have transportation to travel between offices, to event locations and other required destinations and must maintain a valid drivers license; colleague is expected to provide his/her own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage only.
