Overview:

A very private family living in the West Village is looking for a highly seasoned full-time housekeeper to join their team. The schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas in the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, kitchen, office spaces, and playroom.
• Dust, vacuum, and mopping all floors.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and fixtures to ensure they are spotless.
• Upkeep and maintenance of prestigious furniture and artwork throughout the home.
• Deep cleaning bathrooms and kitchens regularly.
• Handle laundry duties, ensuring proper washing, drying, folding, and ironing techniques are used for clothes and linens.
• Manage special care items, such as delicate fabrics or designer clothing.
• Organize closets, pantries, and other storage areas.
• Organize and maintain inventory of household items and supplies efficiently.
• Keep track of household supplies and restocking as needed
• Manage seasonal items and ensure proper storage.
• Report to the House Manager for directives and special requests.
• Collaborate with existing household staff as needed to ensure streamlined communication all across the board

Qualifications:

• Accustomed to working in private homes and maintaining museum quality art
• High attention to detail
• Ability to read the room
• Works well with other staff

Requirements:

• Previous housekeeping experience in a private home or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with the House Manager and other staff members.
• A uniform will be provided and must be worn during work hours.
• Flexibility to travel to the family's second residence in Rhode Island as needed (advance notice will be given)

Salary and Benefits:

• $35-$40 per hour plus benefits
