Job Description:
We are seeking an Ultrasound/Sonography Technologist with generalist skills for a 59-day assignment. The technologist will work Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends, and will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound procedures in a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ultrasound Imaging:
- Perform general and specialty ultrasound examinations, including abdominal and pediatric studies, based on physician orders and established protocols.
- Utilize ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs, ensuring optimal imaging quality.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, providing clear instructions to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Equipment Management:
- Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any technical malfunctions to appropriate personnel for repair.
Patient Care:
- Collaborate with the radiology team to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care during imaging procedures.
- Explain the procedure to the patient and answer any questions they may have regarding the process.
- Ensure all patient documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all hospital and department safety protocols, including infection control and patient safety procedures.
- Follow established radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Ensure images are labeled accurately and transmitted to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintain patient records and contribute to departmental reporting.
Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification:
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in the appropriate clinical specialty (R).
- RDMS (Abdomen) certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital setting is required.
- Experience with client equipment preferred.
- Other Qualifications:
- Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
Dress Code:
- Grey scrubs required.
