Overview:

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage the overall planning, organizing, and operations of the Distribution Center with respect to organizational goals and objectives. This includes, but is not limited to, safety, quality, inventory, warehousing, transportation, administration, maintenance, and other areas as necessary.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead, motivate, and support team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate, recruit, and motivate facility staff.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, inclusive of Federal, State, and Local requirements while maintaining proper records and upholding facility responsibilities.
  • Provide a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with Company, State, Local and Federal policies and regulations.
  • Partner with HR to build strong employee relations while adhering to company policies, taking proper and judicious disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Build relationships with customer service, corporate support, senior leadership, and any other key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Marzetti Operational Excellence pillars.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to annual budget.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and HACCP support programs, inclusive of conformity to company, customer, and government standards.
  • Coordinate with inventory control, warehouse support, customer service and operations to ensure efficient warehouse operations inclusive of inbound and outbound movement of goods to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain quality assurance requirements for all products.
  • Ensure maintenance of facility and all equipment.
  • Advise senior leadership of strategic needs and plans for the facility.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure proper staff coordination and communication.
  • Advises leadership of strategic needs and plans for the Distribution Center.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership and self‑motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in warehousing environment, food warehousing preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a proven leader.
  • SAP or ERP equivalent system experience strongly preferred.
  • Lean and Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience.
  • BA/BS degree in business management or a related field preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment consists of both office and warehouse, which may contain temperature extremes; in some cases, working in environments below freezing temperatures.
