POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to cut, fabricate, and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.

The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  • Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures to repair or replace using hand tools.
  • Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
  • Cleans up work area debris.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Degree or GED.
  • 3 years of professional experience as Carpenter with references
  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

MENTAL / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The mental / physical requirements and environmental conditions of this position consist primarily of:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, and walking
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
  • Continuous mental and visual attention, requiring constant alertness or activity
  • Ability to talk, hear, and see from near and far distances
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
