Lutheran Haven is seeking a Personal Care Attendant & Bath Aide to join our nursing team and assist our residents. As the Personal Care Attendant & Bath Aide, you will be responsible for assisting residents with bathing, dressing, undressing, hygiene activities, or toileting while utilizing safety measures in provision of care.
Our goal is to foster resident independence while maintaining a comfortable and clean environment for all.
Job Duties:
- Actively supports Lutheran Haven’s Mission and Ministry.
- Demonstrates a willingness to be an effective team member by fostering positive relationships with teams and residents.
- Responds promptly to resident care needs as directed by supervisor.
- Although encouraging resident independence, will assist as necessary with the following including, but not limited to:
- Ambulation: getting in and out of bed, transfer techniques, walking with and without assistive devices, use of orthopedic appliances alone or with assistance.
- Dining: may serve and collect food trays.
- Personal: reading, writing, mail distribution, and other communications.
- Environmental Needs: room temperature, safety, appearance, etc.
- Toileting Care: bathing, dressing/undressing, personal grooming.
- Activity Programs: assist in communicating activities to residents and ambulation to activities upon request.
- Report observations regarding resident abilities, health and well-being to appropriate member of staff including any unusual marks or bruises noticed during bathing/shower activity.
- Follow incident report policies and procedures as they relate to employees and residents.
- Assist licensed/certified nursing staff upon request.
- Assist in communicating and transporting residents to scheduled activities, including on/off campus events, appointments as requested.
- Assures that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing duties.
- Attends mandatory in-services and obtains the state required in-services per year, including HIV/AIDS training per state regulations and company policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of verifiable related experience in an elder care facility.
- Must have a current CPR certification.
