CNC Machinist
We are looking for a CNC Machinist in the Western Suffolk area. The company is looking for someone with at least 5 years experience with Milling and Lathe. Responsibilities- Plan and lay out work assignments, sets up and operates all types of machine shop tools in fabrication precision parts to blueprint specifications
- Work under the limited supervision of the senior manufacturing staff
- Set up and operate bench and machine tools including lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, etc., to produce precision parts, tools and fixtures from drawings, sketches, and operation sheets
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, using shop mathematics
- Work to extremely close tolerances using all types of machine shop tools and equipment
- Determine types of machines and sequence of operations to be utilized in each operation
- Select proper cutting tools for each operation and is responsible for grinding of such tools
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to check work and obtain desired tolerances such as micrometers, vernier calipers and measurement scales
- May act as lead person in assigning work and monitoring on-going department operations in the absence of the Machine Shop Supervisor
- Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors
