Responsibilities
The Director of Patient Access manages and coordinates all activities in Patient Access, providing a quality service to patients, physicians and ancillary areas. Promotes learning on updated P & P, technology, systems and additional services being offered by the facility.Achieves improved patient satisfaction through strong customer service skills while adhering to compliance guidelines, P & P, etc. Direct of System wide consistency and standardization of work flow, policy, procedures, technology and people. Reviews and evaluates employee/manager performance in accordance with Performance standards.
Leads and directs teamwork initiatives throughout Patient Access and with all down stream customers, physicians, physician offices and patients. Director and challenger of change. Role model for “doing the right thing.”
Key Accountabilities:
- Interviews, hires, develops and counsels staff as required to meet patient satisfaction and revenue cycle goals and objectives.
- Ensures compliance with Medicare OIG guideline with the completion of MSPQ and following ABN processing requirements. Ensures staff meets HIPAA compliance requirements, in addition to federal, state and local regulations.
- Coordinates facility information regarding insurance dictionary standardization, in accordance with Managed Care and CBO communications to adhere to payor authorization and reimbursement requirements. Facilitates relationships with management peers to ensure Patient Access processes, policies and technology are in line with NHC strategic goals and objectives.
- Represents and directs facility in hospital/system projects to support system implementations, policy/procedures and process redesign.
- Directs daily operations assuring staffing meets expectations minimizing patient wait times while adhering to compliance, financial and demographic requirements in all areas of Patient Access department.
Qualifications
Required:
- One year management in patient access
- Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of relevant experience

- Three years management in patient access
