Automotive Service Manager - Mei Group Inc. - Fixed Operations

MEI, Inc. is searching for a Service Manager to manage and lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced service department. The ideal candidate has successfully managed a profitable and efficient automotive service department and is experienced with vehicle intake, repair order management, effective parts department management, purchase order procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, time in service, quality control, and production management principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the Service Department employees (Shop Foreman, Intake Coordinators, Technicians, Diagnostics, Parts Specialist, Drivers, Porters, and Administrative Assistant).
  • Manage daily communication with internal and external customers
  • Manage the Service Department's workflow in an effective and efficient manner
  • Manage and Lead the final Quality Check for all vehicles completed
  • Improve CSI for the Service Department
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals for the service department
  • Ensure the adherence of shop processes, parts ordering procedures, intake, and closing of a department-related workflow to company standards. (3 days or less)
  • Collaborate with other operational departments to improve customer service levels company-wide
  • Adheres to cost controls and measures in place to meet company expectations.
  • Lead KPI and dashboard performance to make needed adjustments to achieve goals.
  • Allocate resources within the department as needed to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly department goals while maintaining cost control, time in the shop, and aging in the process.
  • Optimizes and enforces parts department processes to control the cost and aging of vehicles in production
  • Audits performance and adherence of each team member to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Manage and Lead the effective use of the production software to ensure effective and efficient workflow

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of management experience in a high-volume service facility
  • 3-5 years of direct team management
  • 3-5 years of Excellent Customer Service
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions and production software
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in purchasing parts, building vendor relations, and negotiating vendor contracts
  • Professional demeanor and positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to effectively lead and work as a member of a team
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate an automobile

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday -Friday (Occasional Saturdays)

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • ASE Certifications preferred
  • Automotive Vocational Tech/College preferred
  • Computer literacy – Excel knowledge preferred
  • Automotive Technician experience preferred

Compensation:

  • $55,000- 62,000 (Depending upon applicable skills, knowledge, and abilities) Monthly Bonus Earning Potential
