Duties, Responsibilities & Other:

KCI is looking for enthusiastic and motivated college students (rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students) to join our Land Development team in Newark, DE.

Interns will work under the guidance of a technical manager within KCI's Land Development design practice, gaining hands-on experience with real-world projects. The internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for roughly 10 weeks, from mid-May to the end of August.

Each intern will have a dedicated supervisor and mentor, participate in planned activities, and submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be enrolled in a college engineering program.
  • Assist in creating plans, quantities, and cost estimates for roadway projects.
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting related to roadway design.
  • Complete field surveys or laboratory assignments specific to roadway engineering.
  • Engage in entry-level engineering, design, or drafting tasks.
  • Prepare engineering studies and coordinate design plans with other disciplines.
  • Apply quality control procedures in alignment with ISO standards.
  • Communicate with clients on a limited basis.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of project expectations with positive feedback.
  • Perform administrative or office management duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a college Engineering program.
  • MicroStation or AutoCAD skills desired but not required.
  • No experience required.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
