Associate Scientist

Position will start in Hopewell but will move to New Brunswick in 4Q2019.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute scalable processes for the purification of protein therapeutic candidates with manager’s approval
• Carry out assigned laboratory work and other functional duties
• Maintain common lab consumables and buffers
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely fashion and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc.
• Collaborate with scientists in a dynamic environment
• Follow safety procedures, contribute to the maintenance of clean laboratory environment utilizing 5S principles

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology or related area in the Life Sciences is required
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience in an academia or industry setting is required
• Experience in maintaining a laboratory notebook is required
• Protein Purification experience is required
• Experience with AKTA family of systems (Avant, Pilot, Pure, Ready, etc.) is preferred
• Experience with Tangential Flow and Depth filtration is preferred
• Experience in protein purification of antibodies, fusion and glycoprotein is preferred
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
